I’m Back... And Writing Every Friday Again

Intelligent Marketer Newsletter

Welcome back to The Intelligent Marketer, where over 16,197 growth-minded founders, agency owners, and marketers go to learn modern marketing strategies.

Hey… it’s been a minute.

I hit pause for a bit. Got married in Greece in September and honeymooned there after for a total of 3 weeks abroad.

Had an amazing trip, so many great memories and experiences. Here’s a glimpse of a work session one morning before starting the day.

Now I’m back in the groove, back into a routine, and you’ll hear from me every Friday moving forward… like before.

Let’s jump right into something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately:

Why it’s so hard to stay consistent with writing, and how to fix it.

Initially, I wanted to keep the newsletters going out consistently, but it quickly became clear that I wasn’t able to put as much effort into them as I wanted. So I made the decision to take a step back instead of shipping mediocre content.

So let’s dive in this week (and before you reply and tell me, I know… it’s Tuesday, but I couldn’t wait any longer 😂).

If you’re running a business or leading marketing, you already know writing is one of the most powerful levers you have.

It builds trust. It sharpens your thinking. It attracts the right people.

So why do we keep falling off?

Here’s my take:

Writing consistently is like a negotiation, and most people get out-negotiated by their own brain.

You sit down to write and that little voice kicks in:

“Is this good enough?”
“Do I sound like an idiot?”
“Maybe I’ll just skip this week.”

It happens to all of us from time to time…

Here’s how I’ve started handling it:

1. Lower the pressure

Don’t try to write a masterpiece. Write like you’re sending a smart note to one person you respect.

2. Know your edge

Every strong piece of content starts with one clear opinion. Something you’d bet on. Start there and build around it.

3. Make a deadline real

Pick a day. Pick a time. Hit publish. No matter what.

You won’t get better at writing until you get better at hitting send.

4. Be the person who says what others won’t

There’s enough vanilla content floating around.

Say the thing that makes you pause. That’s usually what your audience needs most.

That’s where I’m at. No more overthinking. Just shipping.

And if you’ve been meaning to get more consistent with your own writing or content, maybe this is your cue.

Start this week.

I’ll be here every Friday. Reply and let me know what you’re working on.

Talk to you soon.
