Beginner Funnel Set up & Walkthrough
For today, Iām going to walk through how to set up a basic customer journey funnel to automate your business once someone subscribes to your email list.
Letās dive inā¦
Content Creation / Lead Magnets / Paid Ads
These are the three primary ways you can get people onto your email list if youāre a creator, entrepreneur, or business (outside of someone buying a product on your website).
Letās go through these one at a time:
Content Creation: As a business owner or creator, this is one of the most important things you can do⦠build up an audience and drive people towards your profile and to your offers.
Lead Magnets: These are essentially different resources you provide to a customer in exchange for their email. For example, I can create a free guide titled, āHow to get your first 1k subscribersā and promote it on my social media platforms. From there, in order for me to send it to them, they would need to provide me with their email address⦠now theyāre on my email list.
Paid Ads: You can run Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok ads to promote your newsletter or email list. You promote it on someoneās feed, they plug in their email and theyāre subscribed. Simple as that.
Perfect! Step 1 is always getting people into your funnel⦠because the rest of your funnel doesnāt matter if nobody ever enters into it.
Now, letās get into the different ways you can gain new clients and generate revenue for your business
Here are the first 3 types of sequences Iād recommend getting set up ASAP:
Welcome Sequence (1-3 emails): This one should be a no-brainer. You get one chance to make a good first impression. Readers expect a welcome email as soon as they sign up for someoneās list. Donāt make the mistake of letting the readersā excitement fade away.
Low-ticket offer sequence: Create an automation to enroll people who successfully completed your welcome sequence and immediately add them into a low-ticket offer sequence. By opening your welcome emails, theyāve shown engagement, and they have the potential to become a customer... A low-friction way to see if theyāll become a buyer is by offering them a course or product (anywhere from $47-$297). The lower the better here.
Buyer sequence: One thing Iāve learned in business is⦠ābuyers buy.ā If they bought your low-ticket offer, thereās a good chance they may be looking for more⦠thatās when you roll out the big guns. Usually, this is a coaching offer or high-ticket service. Enroll them in the buyer sequence and ask them to become a high-ticket client.
Once theyāve successfully completed all sequences, make sure to keep them on the regular send list going forward⦠you never know when certain content will resonate with them and theyāll become a client.
If you donāt have a low-ticket offer yet, youāre completely fine to promote your high-ticket offer right away and create a high-ticket offer sequence offer instead. No shame in doing that at all.
Alright, youāve effectively automated your business and know the fundamentals of setting up funnels and creating sequences.
Simpler than you thought? It usually is.
