Welcome back!

It’s great to have you for this Friday's edition of the newsletter.

For today… I’m going to share the story of how I wound up in the “newsletter” niche and what led me to start the agency known today as Summit Group.

Let’s dive in:

On Tuesday, I shared with you the story leading up to getting a rather harsh phone call on my birthday that immediately gave me the clarity to take the leap into entrepreneurship.

If you missed that newsletter, click here.

So… my birthday was on a Thursday. I take Friday and the rest of the weekend and think through my online entrepreneurship strategy and all of the people I had to notify about leaving my 9-5.

First thing Monday morning I give our regional manager a call and let him know I’m going to be leaving the company.

Because of the situation I was in running the office by myself, and not wanting to leave the company hanging, they wanted me to stay until they could replace me.

(Side note — it’s almost been a full year and they still haven’t found someone to fill that office)

After making that phone call and telling him I was leaving, I ended up staying another 2 months, until November 17th when I made that my official last day.

It gave me another 2 months to figure out how I was going to make a living online…

I calculated I had 7 months of living expenses from the date of leaving my 9-5 to having to go out and get a job if I didn’t make any money at all.

Toward the end of October… I landed 2 clients writing emails and social media content and made the same amount of money in a month as I did in my 9-5.

I was stoked.

So, it’s November 17th, I’m walking out the front door of the office after handing over the keys and it’s one of the best feelings in my life.

I not only made the decision to pursue my dream, but I also started earning an income online before the timer on my 7 months even started.

So, for the rest of 2023 and until the minute of me writing this 9 months later…

I’ve been writing online and building my agency, Summit Group.

For Tuesday’s email next week, I’ll get into the details of how I landed in the “Newsletter” niche…

For now, have a great weekend!

Thanks for reading!

Have a great weekend,
Eric
